Therapy with Z was built around a simple idea: mental health rarely exists in isolation. How we feel can be shaped by our bodies, relationships, identities, histories, environments, health, responsibilities, values, and the systems we navigate. I provide online psychotherapy that takes those connections seriously while keeping each person’s individual experience at the center of care. I work with adolescents (13+) and adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, chronic illness and pain, suicidal thoughts, identity-related concerns, life transitions, and periods when life simply feels difficult to manage. I have particular interest in the places where mental and physical health intersect and in supporting people whose experiences may not fit neatly into a single diagnosis or treatment model. My therapeutic foundation is person-centered, which means the relationship we build matters as much as the techniques we use. Depending on what you need, our work may draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, compassion-focused and mindfulness-based approaches, motivational interviewing, practical coping skills, relaxation, and mind-body practices. Sometimes therapy means developing a concrete strategy. Sometimes it means slowing down enough to understand what is happening before deciding what to do about it. I provide LGBTQIA+ affirming care and approach therapy from a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective. I value autonomy, curiosity, compassion, collaboration, and honest feedback. I will bring clinical knowledge to our work, but I will not presume to be the expert on your life. My goal is for therapy to become a place where all of the relevant parts of your experience can be considered together and where the work we do has meaning beyond the therapy session.
